Professor Idris Muhammad Bugaje was born at Bugaje, Katsina State. He had his early education in Katsina before proceeding to the famous Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria where he obtained Bachelor’s Degree B.Eng. Hons in 1980 and MSc in 1988. He received commonwealth Scholarship and Fellowship Award in the United Kingdom from 1990 to 1993 where he studied Energy Engineering at the University of Newcastle Upon-Tyne, for his PhD. Bugaje served the compulsory NYSC at the NNPC Refinery in Warri, and started his working career as a Trainee Process Engineer at Nigerian Paper Mill, Jebba, in 1981.
He later moved to academia in 1983 doing research and lecturing spanning over three decades at the Sokoto Energy Research Centre, Kaduna Polytechnic, Ahmadu Bello University, University of Maiduguri, University of Malaya, Kuala Lumpur and the University of Johannesburg. He also served as Rector of the Federal Polytechnic Nasarawa (2000-2004) and was the Director General, National Research Institute for Chemical Technology, Zaria (2011 to 2016) before his appointment as Rector, Kaduna Polytechnic in September 2017. Prof. Bugaje is a registered Engineer with COREN and Fellow of the Solar Energy Society of Nigeria (SESN) and the Nigerian Society of Chemical Engineers (NSChE).

Engr. Ephraim Gaska Kefas, Secretary, Nigerian Society of Chemical Engineers, NSChE, Kaduna Chapter, was born on the14th February 1964 in Numan, Adamawa State. He attended Government Secondary School, Hong where he obtained his West African School Certificate, in 1982. He further went to Kaduna Polytechnic where he obtained his National, Higher National Diploma, and Postgraduate Diploma in Education (Technical) in 1986, 1991 and 2007 respectively. He obtained his Postgraduate Diploma and Master’s Degree in Chemical Engineering from Federal University of Technology Minna in 2001 and 2013. He is a registered Engineer with Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN) and has special Research interest in Environmental and Biofuels. He was the immediate past Treasurer of the Chapter. He has been in the Department of Chemical Engineering, Kaduna Polytechnic, as a staff, since 1987 to date. He was once a Departmental Examination Officer and the Dean Students Affairs of Kaduna Polytechnic. He is married to Esther Ephraim and is blessed with five children. His hobbies include playing table tennis, football and gospel music.

Engr. Diya’uddeen Basheer Hasan is an Associate Professor and a Head of Department (MSDS) with Centter for Energy Research and Training (CERT), Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria. Before joining CERT he was Acting Director and Head of Department, Industrial and Environmental Technology Department (IETD) at National Research Institute for Chemical Technology (NARICT). Other places Engr. Diya’uddeen worked include: Chemical Engineering Department of Kaduna Polytechnic; Petroleum and Chemical Engineering Department of Sultan Qaboos University, Oman; Chemical Engineering Department of University of Malaya, Malaysia; Kano University of Science and Technology, Wudil and Chemical Engineering Department, University of Maiduguri. He is also an external examiner to Bayero University Kano.
Engr.
